Another really big spider
Here’s a picture of a really big spider that I found on the north side of our house today. I think it’s a Black and Yellow Argiope.
She is about 2 inches from top to bottom (or that might be from bottom
to top, as she is pointing down towards the ground.) I would
typically be inclined to catch this beauty and put her in my Spider House,
but that particular project has gone by the wayside for now. It
seems as though my plate is now full with two jobs, two kids, four fish, a
dog, volunteer work and a blog. So she will stay on where she is
for now and we’ll entrust her to keep all of the other pesky bugs away. Click here to see another spider that I found last year.

I am pretty sure it's a she...I asked Z. if she though "Charlotte" was a good name and she said, "Yeh...Sha-latt!" So the name stands. Good call.

This thing must not be allowed to live.
B-movies teach us that if a meteor falls nearby, spiders grow huge instantly and go on a rampage across town. Now you don't won't to risk that, do you? Re: Re: Another really big spider

Thomai has pretty much told me that this thing is dead the minute I turn my back. Oddly enough, the kids aren't that concerned about it. I guess they haven't seen enough b-movies yet! In the meantime, she (the spider) is standing guard just above our front door. It's really pretty cool.
